Chapura, Inc. Unveils Cloak 2.0 Update, with Unique, Secure Data-Sharing Technique.

Business Editors & High-Tech Writers

MOBILE, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 15, 2002

Chapura(R), Inc., introduces Cloak(TM) 2.0, an update to the popular organization and encryption software Encryption software is software whose main task is encryption and decryption of data, usually in the form of files on hard drives and removable media, email messages, or in the form of packets sent over computer networks.  designed to help store, protect, retrieve and share personal information, such as account numbers, passwords, and PINs, using virtually any Palm OS(R) handheld and Windows(R)-compatible PC. This updated version includes the benefits that earned five-star reviews for the original, plus exciting new advancements.

The most innovative feature of Cloak 2.0 is the unique ability to share and back up Cloak accounts via secure, encrypted Chapura vCloak files, which are proprietary to Cloak software. Cloak owners may import, export and e-mail vCloak files. The creator of a vCloak file assigns a password that is used to encrypt the account data and must be entered by anyone wanting to decrypt To convert secretly coded data (encrypted data) back into its original form. Other enhancements include a print option, allowing users to store hard copies of account lists in other secure locations, such as a safe deposit box A safe deposit box (sometimes incorrectly called a safety deposit box) is a type of safe usually located in groups inside a bank vault or in the back of a bank or post office. . A new time-saver is the ability to select multiple accounts simultaneously for quick re-categorizing, exporting or deleting. Among other usability improvements, standard features and benefits of Cloak 2.0 include:
-- Offers built-in templates for easy entry and organization of private
information

-- Categorizes accounts (business, personal, spouse, child...) for easy look-up

-- Protects the entire Cloak database with a single password

-- Synchronizes all accounts between the handheld and PC desktop for easy
access anywhere

-- Secures the contents of the database using strong encryption technology

"Cloak 2.0 takes securing and sharing private information to a higher, safer level," said Jim Chappelle, president and chief technology officer of Chapura. "It's a relief to know exactly where important, personal information is stored, and that it is secure. It's true peace of mind to be able to share data confidentially with family or colleagues with little risk of its being exposed to the wrong person."

Current Cloak customers may update to version 2.0 for free. For first-time customers, Cloak costs $19.95. Cloak 2.0 can be purchased on the Chapura web site, www.chapura.com.

As a standard company practice, Chapura offers free, knowledgeable and responsive customer support via FAQs on the company's web site, e-mail and telephone.
