Chapter profile: Toronto has long history, strong membership.With more than six decades of history and more than 1,200 members, IABC/Toronto has a strong past and bright future. Founded in 1942, the chapter was part of the Canadian Industrial Editors' Association before it became part of IABC IABC International Association of Business Communicators IABC Indo-Americans for Better Community . IABC/Toronto has won many Chapter Management Awards over the years and was the IABC International Chapter of the Year in 1987. In addition to garnering awards, the chapter bestows honors on others: Its CNW Group CNW Group (CNW) is a commercial news release service established in 1960 and jointly owned by PR Newswire and The Press Association. CNW distributes media materials on behalf of a variety of customers such as companies, governments, non-profit agencies and other establishments. Communicator of the Year award has recognized excellence in communication for the past nine years. IABC/Toronto keeps in touch with members through the Communicator newsletter, published 11 times a year.
