Chapter leaders "Catch the Rhythm". (NAMA Leadership)."Catch the Energy and Release the Potential," was the theme of this years Chapter Presidents Workshop in Nashville. Chapter presidents and leaders from five regions, representing 15 professional chapters, came together to see how they could apply the "FISH!" philosophy to their chapters, as well as to their lives. The group worked with the four key areas of the "FISH!" philosophy. Mike Gustafson shared NAMA FISH!, a story unique to NAMA, that related the philosophy: * Choose your attitude. * Play * Make their day. * Be present. Each area of focus was interactive, demanded thought, discussion, and of course fun, on the part of the participants. Kyle Bauer kept the group on task and entertained during the morning as he performed his duties as Vice Chapter Services Chair. One of the most important outcomes of this workshop was the camaraderie that developed as peer's worked with one another and shared in discussion. The workshop delved into programming and leadership expectations on the chapter level. Executive Committee member Jeff Patterson moderated the discussion and chapter leaders were encouraged to share their views. Incoming national president, Teresa Hinrichs rounded out the morning by sharing the four platforms of NAMA. Chapters are an invaluable part of the NAMA experience and are one of the four platforms the Executive Committee will focus on this year. Strong chapters translate to a strong NAMA, where members gain invaluable benefits. Chapter leaders left the program ready to get started in their chapters. |
