 hotel owner is turning back the clock in style - with the renovation of a Victorian chapel.

Paul Hopwood is defying the downturn with high-flying plans for the future of Nuthurst Grange Country Hotel and Restaurant, Hockley Heath Hockley Heath is a village and civil parish in the Metropolitan Borough of Solihull, West Midlands, England. It is one of the Arden villages which later became a convenient stopping off point for users of the Stratford-upon-Avon Canal. .

He has obtained planning permission to restore the chapel in the grounds of the hotel as well as turn a former farm building and stable block into a function room and conference centre. the work is due for completion within the next three months. Paul, who took over the business in 2006, has already carried out major renovation work throughout the 15-bedroom hotel as well as in the dining areas and current conference facilities.

Future moves include adding 36 more bedrooms in the grounds.

Paul said: "I think the investment shows how much confidence I have in the future success of Nuthurst Grange.
