Chaparral Network Storage, Inc., a leading provider of intelligent storage networking solutions, will demonstrate the high performance and advanced fault tolerance of its external RAID controllers at the National Association of Broadcasters' NAB2000 conference and exhibition this week in Las Vegas.

Chaparral's external RAID controllers are well suited for mission-critical SAN (Storage Area Network) applications in pre- and post-production environments.

Chaparral's complete line of price/performance external RAID controllers will be exhibited in the Fibre Channel Industry Association (FCIA) Room, M9240, in the Sands Convention Center. In the FCIA room, the active-active failover capability of Chaparral's G7324 external RAID controllers will be demonstrated in a Fibre Channel SAN environment running real-time video. Chaparral's external RAID controllers will also be demonstrated in several partner booths at NAB2000, offering live presentations of the benefits of SANs and the reliability of Chaparral's products.

Multimedia Production Environment (Quantum\ATL Booth - S 3445)

In one of two exhibits of real-world environments at the Quantum\ATL booth, Chaparral's external RAID controllers will be demonstrated in a Fibre Channel SAN to illustrate their real-world benefits. Chaparral's external RAID controller will act as the reliable and speedy converter of Fibre Channel to Fibre Channel in this continuous, live demonstration. The demonstration also will incorporate a sound system, presenting a complete electronic cinema application.

The second Quantum\ATL demonstration features Chaparral's external RAID controllers in a Fibre Channel SAN enabling non-linear video editing. The exhibit will demonstrate a collaborative working environment where video editors can access and work simultaneously on the same files. The two demonstrations will be projected onto a 16' x 9' theater screen providing continuous access to the SAN content.

Video Editing (Alias/Wavefront booth -- S 4121)

The Alias/Wavefront booth will combine both demonstrations at the Quantum\ATL booth into one, integrated environment. The SAN will be used in conjunction with live presentations made by multi-media industry leaders, such as Sony Pictures Entertainment, Warner Brothers Television Network, Digital Domain, Turner Productions, Industrial Light and Magic, Dreamworks, SKG and more.
