ChanneLinx and Centex Homes Announce New Back-office Automation Process.

ChanneLinx, the premier provider of electronic commerce for the building materials and construction industry, and Centex Homes, one of the nation's largest home builders, announced a deal to develop a process for extracting information from the back-office systems of trading partners.

The process was initiated to automate the exchange of information between Centex Homes' back-office system and the back-office system of CTX Builders Supply, a major construction materials supplier to Centex Homes.

Using the newly developed process, selected purchase orders will be extracted from Centex Homes' back-office systems and sent to CTX Builders Supply using ChanneLinx's innovative WebDI(tm) (Web Data Interchange) technology.

The initial Web-based document exchanges will occur between Centex Homes and CTX Builders Supply, as well as between CTX Builders Supply and some of its major suppliers. Without either party installing any new systems, purchase orders sent from Centex Homes will be translated into CTX Builders Supply's preferred format, and the transactions will be directly integrated into CTX Builder Supply's back-office system.

Centex Homes and CTX Builders Supply began exchanging transactions through WebDI in November 2000.
