.) announces that after three years as Chairman of the Board of Directors, Michael Scholz is stepping down as Chairman to continue as a Director. The Executive Chairman role will be assumed by John W. Sandford, who became the interim President and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  following the resignation of Peter Jeffrey in July.

Mr. Scholz said: "John is a very experienced aerospace executive. We are actively recruiting a new President & CEO and I decided that we should make the planned move now so that John and the new President can lead us into 2000 as a team. I will continue as an active Board and committee member and will participate on Avcorp's Strategic Planning Strategic planning is an organization's process of defining its strategy, or direction, and making decisions on allocating its resources to pursue this strategy, including its capital and people.  Task Force. Mr. Sandford joined the Avcorp Board last year and has served as the Chairman of the Executive Committee. He is also the Chairman of Cade Industries, an aerospace company with head quarters in Lansing, Michigan. He retired from Rolls Royce North America Inc. in 1998, where he had served as CEO and Chairman.
