This release of the Changepoint Offline Browser Client is compatible with Version 6.0 of Changepoint's professional services automation (PSA) software.

Mobile workers with laptops requiring access to relevant Changepoint functionality, but hampered by limited connectivity to their network, can take advantage of the offline solution to:

-- Provide project managers with a quick synopsis of the work that was
performed or task status, which includes hours or percent complete, and
forecast end/start dates

-- Enter time and expenses

-- Receive automatic reminders about personal and role-based workflow, such as
expense reports that have been approved or rejected

-- Save key reports for offline viewing

Technology and Approach

The second generation Offline Browser Client provides customers greater ease of use, and enhancements in performance, speed of deployment and synchronization because of its design and use of XML technology.

The Offline Browser Client requires IE 5.0 or 5.5 and MS-XML Version 3.0 to be installed on the user's machine. The user will have a "personalized" experience and only will be presented with the information specific to their roles.

Initial installation and updates are automated. The software for the Offline Browser Client installs automatically when the user hits the "Synchronize" button for the first time. Synchronization of data occurs in minutes, even across dial up lines.

The Offline Browser Client has a small footprint on the laptop (both data storage and application). Local installation is approximately one MB, and all of the user's data is stored on the machines in XML files.

The value that the Changepoint Offline Browser Client offers is in the seamless experience for the user -- it is a truly integrated solution identical in operation to the Online Browser Client, even as it relates to default values, business rules and reporting.
