Change to bus travel routes.


BUS passengers are warned that nine bus routes in the west of Newcastle are to be diverted every evening for a week.

The Highways Agency is resurfacing the roundabout junction where the A69 meets the B6528 junction for West Denton West Denton, Newcastle upon Tyne is a small part of Newcastle upon Tyne. It includes Chapel Park estate, west denton shopping centre & west denton firestation (built 1981).  and Lemington Road Ends.

Bus diversions will last for eight days from Monday November 23 until Monday November 30 from 7pm until midnight.

During this time the following buses will be subject to significant diversions, not calling at stops near the junction and instead using other roads through West Denton, Walbottle and Lemington: Stagecoach stagecoach, heavy, closed vehicle on wheels, usually drawn by horses, formerly used to transport passengers and goods overland. Throughout the Middle Ages and until about the end of the 18th cent.  routes 6, 7, 8, 10, 39, 40 and X82; Arriva route 684 and Arriva/Stagecoach route 685. Parts of these routes east of the A1 towards Newcastle or west of Throckley up the Tyne Valley Tyne Valley may refer to:
  • The village of Tyne Valley, Prince Edward Island, Canada
  • The River Tyne in Northern England
 are not affected. Nexus is placing posters on 50 bus stops throughout the area and there will also be notices on buses themselves. Passengers are advised to contact North East Traveline on 0871 200 22 33 if they have any queries, consult the Nexus website www.nexus.org.uk or get advice from a driver as they board their bus.

The Highways Agency is closing the junction in phases to the roadworks to be carried out in safety.
