Chancellor Media Garners Top Broadcast Honors At 1998 Country Music Association Awards.

Chancellor Media Corporation (Nasdaq: AMFM) won three of this year's top eight broadcast honors awarded by the Country Music Association (CMA), it was announced today by George C. Toulas, Senior Vice President, Regional Operations. Chancellor's WUBE-FM in Cincinnati received the Major Market Station of the Year distinction and KMLE-FM's `Ben & Brian' in Phoenix received the Major Market Broadcast Personality of the Year distinction, while Capstar Broadcasting's Scott Innes of WYNK-FM in Baton Rouge received the Medium Market Broadcast Personality of the Year award (Chancellor and Capstar agreed to merge last month). The winners are being recognized during "The 32nd CMA Awards", broadcast live on network television from the Grand Ole Opry House tonight at 8:00 p.m. EDT.

The CMA nominations and winning votes came directly from the country music industry's top executives and CMA Members. Each of the CMA entries were judged on the following accomplishments: Overall Sound of the Radio Station; Ratings; Community Service; and, Excellence in Promotion of Country Music.
