Chancellor Media Agrees to Acquire WWDC-FM AND WWDC-AM - Stations Represent Chancellor's Fifth FM and Third AM Stations in Washington DC.

), America's leading radio-only company, announced today additional station acquisitions in Washington, D.C., the nation's eighth largest radio revenue market. Chancellor has signed a definitive agreement pursuant to which it will acquire WWDC-FM 101.1 MHz (MegaHertZ) One million cycles per second. It is used to measure the transmission speed of electronic devices, including channels, buses and the computer's internal clock. A one-megahertz clock (1 MHz) means some number of bits (16, 32, 64, etc.  and WWDC-AM 1260 KHz from Capitol Broadcasting Company Capitol Broadcasting Company is a TV and radio broadcast company based in Raleigh, North Carolina. Capitol Broadcasting Company owns and operates the following stations: TV

 for $72 million.

The transaction is scheduled to close in the second quarter of 1998 and is subject to the approval of the FCC (1) (Federal Communications Commission, Washington, DC, www.fcc.gov) The U.S. government agency that regulates interstate and international communications including wire, cable, radio, TV and satellite. The FCC was created under the U.S.  as well as the completion of Chancellor's previously announced transfer to Bonneville International
