Champps Entertainment, Inc. (Nasdaq:CMPP) today announced that its award-winning director of culinary, Andre Halston, has been appointed first president of the International Corporate Chefs Association.

The International Corporate Chefs Association (ICCA) was formed in May 2002 by some of the nation's leading chefs representing multi-unit food service operations. Its mission is to provide education for corporate chefs spanning all segments of the food service industry.

In his role as president, Halston will serve as the key spokesperson for the organization. He will head the ICCA's board of directors meetings, which consist of 10 members who are chefs of leading multi-unit restaurants. Halston will also host the ICCA's upcoming first annual conference to be held in Miami, November 24-26, 2002.

Halston, who was named one of the hottest chefs in Chicago in 1999 by the Chicago Sun-Times, brings to the ICCA a broad industry background spanning more than three decades. He is the recipient of several prestigious industry awards, including, among many others, Restaurant Business's Menu Strategist Award for 2002 and the MenuMasters Award from Nation's Restaurant News in 2001. He joined Champps in April 2000, and during his tenure, has vastly expanded the company's menu of more than 100 freshly prepared, innovative items.

The ICCA is the nation's first association established for corporate chefs of the nation's largest multi-unit food service operations. The organization will provide members with on-going web-based education and will host an annual conference focusing on industry trends, current issues and topics that will help corporate chefs in their day-to-day operations. Events at the annual conference will focus on: international trends, menu development, food merchandising, food photography, scientific research panels, flavor tasting, training techniques, new cooking methods and technology.
