THIS year's champions Conwy A have got off to a flying start in the Caernarfonshire & District Bayonet bayonet

Conwy A, who won seven and lost three of their games last season, opened this with a match against the club's B team, who joined them in Division One when they finished runners-up to Porthmadog A in Division Two last year - the first time two teams from the same club have played in the top division.

The A team proved too strong, winning 5-0 and following up with a 3 '-1' victory at Penmaenmawr, who were runners-up last year, and another 5-0 victory again Holyhead.

Conwy B won their second match at Penmaenmawr 4-1 but last year's Division Two champions Porthmadog A have lost their first two games at Penmaenmawr and Royal St David's

Maesdu, third in the final table last year, have won their first two games in Division Two, beating both St Deiniol and North Wales North Wales (known in some archaic texts as Northgalis) is the northernmost unofficial region of Wales, bordered to the south by Mid Wales and to the east by England.  at home, while St Deiniol have also won twice, at home against Henllys and away at North Wales. For the first time this year women members can play in the teams, receiving three strokes on their handicap but playing from the men's tees.

Flintshire's Padeswood & Buckley team (James Moore (3), Nick Hodge (4), Jack Neal (7), Jordan Sweeney (11), Mike Flynn (11) and Callum Jones (12) totalled 374.
