APOEL Athlitikos Podosferikos Omilos Ellinon Lefkosias (Athletic Football Club Hellenic Nikosia)
, Cyprus' football champion, were beaten at home last night by FC Porto 0 -- 1, in the Champions League Group D.

A late goal by Falcao (84th minute), at GSP Stadium The Pancyprian Gymnastic Association Stadium (GSP Stadium) (Greek: Στάδιο Γυμναστικός Σύλλογος  in Nicosia, gave Porto a place in the knockout stages.

APOEL are scheduled to play Atletico Madrid, on 25 November, in Nicosia, to try and secure a place in the 32 of the Europa League.

The Cypriot champions, in spite of losing the game, continue to claim third place in their group, after last night's 2-2 draw between Atletico and Chelsea.

"It was not an easy win, we could have scored more goals,"

said Porto coach Jesualdo Ferreira Manuel Jesualdo Ferreira (born June 6 1946) is a Portuguese football (soccer) manager.

Ferreira was the assistant manager for Portuguese national team in the 1990s, and manager for the under-21 national team, until the 1999-2000 season.

"They (Porto) had more clear chances for goals and they

deserved to win," said APOEL coach Ivan Jovanovic. "We tried to

play more attacking football than in the first game (last month)

and Porto took advantage of the open space."

"I believe that we deserve a win at this stage and I hope we

can get that from the remaining matches," he added.
