Champions . . . that's the walking family Wilkes.


A FAMILY of champs. from. Quinton keep walking off with all the cups.

For the three Wilkes children are dedicated to race walking and they have won more than 40 medals, cups and awards.

Colln, aged 10, is Midland and Worcester champion; Mark, aged 14, is West Midlands West Midlands, former metropolitan county, central England. Created in the 1974 local government reorganization, the county embraced the Birmingham conurbation and comprised seven metropolitan districts: Walsall, Wolverhampton, Dudley, Sandwell, Birmingham, Solihull,  Schools champion, and sister Jane, who is II, keeps qualifying for races she is too young to compete in.

It's even more of a Family affair at their home in Bramcote Road, Quinton, for sister Pauline, aged 10, is itching itching

 Club, and they aim to keep walking-up to Olympic standards.
