County saw an increase in their cumulative budgets of $1 million, or 4 percent, in 2004. Eighteen chambers reported budget increases from 2003 while six reported decreases and one remained constant. The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce remained No. 1 and increased its budget by $300,000 to $4.5 million. Once a commercial port for Los Angeles, it is a residential and resort city with a protected harbor and an excellent marina. Chamber of Commerce and Visitor's Bureau moved up four spots to No. 7 on the list, as its budget increased by $320,000, or 41 percent. It is a residential and beach community with an oil refinery and nearby factories that produce transportation and electrical equipment, computers, and pottery. Chamber of Commerce moved up two spots to No. 19 after increasing its budget by 33 percent, to $530,000. Chamber of Commerce slipped to No. 11 on the list from No. 5. The Beverly Hills Beverly Hills, city (1990 pop. 31,971), Los Angeles co., S Calif., completely surrounded by the city of Los Angeles; inc. 1914. The largely residential city is home to many motion-picture and television personalities. Chamber of Commerce held on to its No. 2 ranking despite an 11 percent decrease in budget over the past year.
