Chamber-Blues plan is good for business.I read the Nov. 4, 2002, Crain's Detroit Detroit, city, United States Detroit (dĭtroit`), city (1990 pop. 1,027,974), seat of Wayne co., SE Mich., on the Detroit River and between lakes St. Clair and Erie; inc. as a city 1815. Business article regarding the Detroit Regional Chamber's relationship with Blue Cross Blue Shield Blue Shield A US not-for-profit health care insurer that is a reimbursement intermediary for physicians. Cf Blue Cross. of Michigan Michigan (mĭsh`ĭgən), upper midwestern state of the United States. It consists of two peninsulas thrusting into the Great Lakes and has borders with Ohio and Indiana (S), Wisconsin (W), and the Canadian province of Ontario (N,E). with great interest. From my experience, if programs like the Chamber's are disbanded, the result will be catastrophic for small businesses throughout Michigan. Only by banding together, through the Chamber, can small companies in Michigan offer health-care coverage that compares favorably fa·vor·a·ble adj. 1. Advantageous; helpful: favorable winds. 2. We were very satisfied with the coverage afforded us through the Chamber. Our small group was able to obtain coverage not otherwise affordable to individuals or small companies. Without the Chamber's program, my employees would have had to accept lesser coverage, at higher costs, through individual or other group policies. In short, my participation in the Detroit Regional Chamber group plan offered me a competitive advantage and simplicity of administration that I could not get elsewhere.
