Chamber receives Sloan Award for workplace flexibility.

The Detroit Regional Chamber was among six local businesses to receive the Alfred P. Sloan Awards for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility.

The awards were presented in April during the Chamber's Workforce Strategies Conference at the Fairlane Center in Dearborn. Accenture, Amerisure Mutual Insurance Co., Brogan & Partners Convergence Marketing, Plexus Systems LLC and Rossetti Architects were also honored.

Sponsored by The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, the award is part of When Work Works, a nationwide initiative to highlight the importance of workforce effectiveness and flexibility as a business strategy to enhance competitive advantage in the global economy and yield positive results.

When Work Works is an ongoing initiative of Families and Work Institute, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Center for Workforce Preparation and the Center for Emerging Futures.
