Chalone Wine Group Wines to be Distributed in California by Young's Market Company.

Starting on July 1, 2002, the Estate Group of Young's Market Company will distribute all of Chalone chalone /chal·one/ (kal´on) a group of tissue-specific water-soluble substances that are produced within a tissue and that inhibit mitosis of cells of that tissue and whose action is reversible.  Wine Group's (Nasdaq:CHLN) wines in California, announced President and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  Thomas B. Selfridge.

After an extensive analysis of this growth and its business, CWG decided that Young's Market's new fine wine division, the Estate Group, offers the company a strategic position within Young's Market extensive sales and customer service network. This will allow CWG to further broaden its distribution base of fine wine accounts in order to maintain the company's growth.

Selfridge commented, "The Henry Wine Group has sold CWG's wines for the past four years. We enjoyed our association with such a fine company and we appreciate the contributions they have made to our company's growth."
