Challenge by anorexic will not go ahead; COURT.

 yesterday withdrew a legal challenge on her behalf.

The 16-year-old had gone to the High Court in Belfast to force health chiefs to provide in-patient medical facilities for adolescents.

The girl, who has been depending on a nasal tube feeding tube feeding,
n a method for supplying liquid nutrition through a tube that passes through the nasal passages and into the stomach. This method is utilized when ingesting food through the oral cavity is inadvisable or painful due to surgery or injury.
 system, had been granted leave to seek a judicial review in October.

But with a full hearing scheduled to begin today, her barrister revealed the application would not now be going ahead.

Liam McCollum QC told the court the girl had wanted to proceed with the challenge when she turned 16, but it became clear that instructions taken "had conflicted with applicant's true desire".
