Chai-Na-Ta announces financial results at record levels for fiscal 1994.

LANGLEY, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 22, 1995-- Chai-Na-Ta Corp., the ("Company"), is pleased to announce that financial results for the fiscal year ended November 30, 1994 are at record levels.

In 1993, the Company changed its fiscal year end from May 31 to November 30 to better reflect its business cycle. This is the Company's first full fiscal year with the new year end.

To measure financial performance, it is appropriate to compare the period ending November 30, 1994 with the 12 month periods ending May 31, 1993 & May 31, 1992.

Total consolidated revenue for fiscal 1994 was $19.1 million, an increase of 82 percent over the $10.5 million reported in the fiscal year ending May 31, 1993 and a cumulative increase of 141 percent from the $7.9 million for the fiscal year ending May 31, 1992.

Net consolidated income for fiscal 1994 was $4.3 million, an increase of 39 percent over the $3.1 million reported in the year ending May 31, 1993 and a cumulative increase of 113 percent from the $2.0 million from the year ending May 31, 1992.

Earnings per share also increased to a record level. Fiscal 1994 earnings per share were $0.30, a 30 percent increase when compared to the $0.23 EPS reported for the year ending May 31, 1993, and a cumulative increase of 76 percent form the $0.17 EPS for the year ending May 31, 1992. The $0.30 EPS is also 7 percent higher than the $0.28 EPS that the Company had been projecting throughout the past year. Fiscal 1994 marks the eighth consecutive year the Company has experienced sustained corporate growth.
