patients who need supplementary oxygen, today announced significantly increasing sales during the first quarter ending June 30, 2001.

Thomas E. Jones, Chief Executive Officer, stated, "Sales in the current quarter, which will end on June 30, 2001, are running in excess of 50% above the prior year's quarter. If this sales performance continues through the balance of the quarter, we expect to make substantial progress this quarter towards our goal of returning to profitability. The current sales performance is further evidence that our turnaround strategy is producing positive results. The increase in sales continues to be driven by increased domestic sales in our oxygen conserver line, led by the new OXYMATIC(R) 400 series conservers, and international sales of the TOTAL O2(R) Delivery System. We believe this positive trend will be aided by additional products under development that are designed to further improve our competitive position."

Jones further stated, "We continue to be pleased with the market reception the OXYMATIC 400 series conservers have received since their introduction last year. We believe our ability to regain market share in the conserver market has been fostered by CHAD's leadership in bringing state-of-the-art technology to the homecare market and our proven reputation for reliability in this area."

The foregoing statements regarding prospects for the OXYMATIC 400 series conservers, the TOTAL O2 system and products under development are forward-looking statements forward-looking statement

that involve certain risks and uncertainties. The success of the OXYMATIC 400 series conservers, the TOTAL O2 system and products under development will depend on the health care community's perception of the products' capabilities and benefits, the degree of acceptance the products achieve among homecare providers, competition and, with respect to products under development, obtaining timely regulatory approval.
