 that takes place on the wedding night of a pair of newly-weds unversed in the intricacies of sex. As this situation has little resonance with modern audiences raised on Sex in the City and Desperate Housewives, much of the titillation found at the time of its premiere is lost. But if you can imagine a distant, more genteel age in which innocence lasted beyond the age of puberty, you may still find a certain charm.
