Cerys shines light on Shady girls.

SIX Welsh schoolgirls are being tipped for pop stardom - with the backing of Cerys Matthews and the Super Furry Animals.

Shades, a group of 11-year-olds, are already in the running for the coveted Christmas number one spot with their debut single We are the Future.

Former Catatonia catatonia (kăt'ətō`nēə), mental state generally characterized by statuesque posturing, muscular immobility, mutism, and apparent stupor.  star Cerys Matthews has promised to help promote the girl group in America.

And Welsh rockers the Super Furry Animals are trying to get their record company Sony to sign up the youngsters.

The six - Carys Speake, Stephanie Fitzgerald, Sherrise Stroud, Kerry Davies, Bianca Ali and Becky Bevan - were discovered singing in amateur productions in Cardiff.

Bill Fitzgerald of independent recording company Music Wales said: "They are good enough to make it to the top.

"Their single is of the calibre of Band Aid - which went straight to number one in the eighties.

"I'm sure We Are The Future will be an absolute hit." The song was written by Cardiff songwriter Paul Weston and recorded in Caerphilly Caerphilly (kīrfĭl`ē, kär–), Welsh Caerffili, town (1981 pop. 42,376) and county borough, 108 sq mi (279 sq km), S Wales. .

It will be released in time for Christmas and profits will go to BBC BBC
 in full British Broadcasting Corp.
