Cerveceria Cuauhtemoc Moctezuma Celebrates Toluca Plant Groundbreaking
The installation of the modern Steinecker brewing house will allow the Company to increase its production capacity at the Toluca plant by 50%, increasing to 6.3 million hectoliters per year from 4.2 million hectoliters per year.
During the groundbreaking ceremony, Cesar Camacho Quiroz, the Governor of the State of Mexico laid the first brick of the modern brewing house for Cerveceria Cuauhtemoc Moctezuma's plant in Toluca. Other dignitaries present at the ceremony included Juan Jose Guerra Abud, Toluca's Secretary of Economic Development; Carlos Salazar Lomelin, President of Cerveceria Cuauhtemoc Moctezuma (Femsa Cerveza); Clemente lbarra lbarra, General Manager of the Toluca plant; as well as other state and municipal dignitaries and directors of the Company.
Cerveceria Cuauhtemoc Moctezuma has seven plants strategically located throughout Mexico. The construction of the modern brewing house in Toluca is part of the Company's ongoing program of modernizing and increasing the production capacity within its brewing system. Other modernization efforts have included increasing production capacity by 1.2 million hectoliters at the Navojoa plant at the end of 1994 and the early part of 1995 and the increasing production capacity by 800,000 hectoliters at the Monterrey plant during 1995. Both of these projects increased the number of employees and shows the Company's commitment to Mexico and the communities in which it operates. All of these efforts are helping the Company increase its production capacity in order to meet the growing demand for beer at the domestic level, as well as in the international export markets.
Cerveceria Cuauhtemoc Moctezuma, founded in 1890, produces and distributes prestigious brands of beer including Tecate, Carta Blanca, Superior, Sol, Dos Equis, Tecate Light and Bohemia. The Company exports its products to 78 countries worldwide.
