Certifying the bank marketer's future.

With increased market competition, bank executives are looking for highly trained and qualified employees to fill critical positions. Over 71 percent of community bank CEOs indicated that it was difficult to find a qualified marketing officer candidate, according to ABA Banking Journal's 2003 Community Bank Competitiveness Survey. The Certified Financial Marketing Professional (CFMP) designation is a mark of distinction that will set a financial services marketer apart from his or her peers.

What is a CFMP? It is a financial services marketing professional who has committed to achieving and maintaining his or her competitive advantage by demonstrating knowledge and skills applicable to the marketing discipline, particularly as it relates to the financial services industry. A CFMP's knowledge covers financial principles, laws and regulations, market research, characteristics of marketing plans and marketing components.

A bank marketer's first step in acquiring the designation is to take the CFMP examination. For a list of upcoming exam dates and to request more information about the designation visit www.aba.com/icbcertifications or call (800) BANKERS.
