Certified lawyers may soon be able to use BCS after their names.


Florida Bar board certified board certified,
adj the status of a dental specialist such as an orthodontist who has become a board diplomate by successfully completing the certification program of the recognized certification board in that area of practice.
 lawyers may soon be able to use the initials BCS (1) (The British Computer Society, Swindon, Wiltshire, England, www.bcs.org) The chartered body for information technology professionals in the U.K., founded in 1957.  after their names on letterheads, business cards, legal pleadings, and in ads.

The Bar Board of Governors approved at its June meeting a rule amendment proposed by the Board of Legal Education and Specialization that would allow certified lawyers to use those initials. The BCS stands for board certified specialist.

, said the change to Bar Rule 63.9(a) specifies how and where the initials can be used.

The rules must still be approved by the Supreme Court
