Cerner Tops KLAS CPOE Perception Report for Third Straight Year; Leading Industry Report Lists Cerner as Supplier Most Often Considered by Providers for CPOE.
"The KLAS CPOE Perception Report provides insight into CPOE decision making and assesses market perceptions of solutions offered," said Kent Gale, president of KLAS. "Healthcare executives rated Cerner as the most likely CPOE supplier to be included in a system selection today."
The report, a highly respected gauge of the CPOE market, indicates that Cerner has a strong presence with current clients as well as those using other suppliers for their core clinical solutions. Specifically, 96 percent of Cerner clients state they would consider the company again as their CPOE supplier. Even more significant, Cerner is the leading choice among respondents not using Cerner as their core supplier.
"We are very pleased to once again be recognized for our leadership position in the CPOE market," said Trace Devanny, Cerner president. "Cerner is a proven and experienced partner, with the ability to help clients' improve patient safety and increase efficiency through robust CPOE and closed-loop medication management functionality."
Also in the report, hospital executives ranked Cerner's performance highest among those suppliers with a significant number of implementations. The perception ratings for Cerner CPOE are above average in nine of the 10 performance categories: vision/clinical strategy; CPR offering; clinical documentation; clinical decision support (alerts/reminders); end-user presentation; broad organizational acceptance; technology/architecture; integration; and supporting physician use.
Another analysis in the report shows Cerner has the largest CPOE market share among respondents who have made a supplier selection. Providers surveyed said they selected Cerner based primarily on the company's vision and the desire for a sole-source healthcare IT supplier.
Cerner has 60 acute care and 304 ambulatory care sites live with CPOE.
