KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Affirming Cerner (Nasdaq:CERN) as an industry leader in providing healthcare information technology solutions (IT), the 2006 KLAS CPOE Digest reports that the company's computerized physician order entry (CPOE) solution, based on its unified Cerner Millennium architecture, offers the highest value proposition for providers and increases physicians' overall on-the-job satisfaction.

In its fourth annual CPOE Digest report published on Friday, KLAS outlined its impartial synopsis of the CPOE market, focusing on usage of CPOE in live inpatient and major ambulatory facilities in North America. Cerner was among 12 competitors evaluated by providers on various aspects of their CPOE system, such as integration with pharmacy, benefits and value proposition.

Cerner was the clear leader in CPOE value proposition, outscoring its nearest competitor by 65 percent in overall inpatient and ambulatory score.

In addition, Cerner leads the industry with the most live inpatient CPOE hospitals and the highest net inpatient additions in the industry. The Cerner Millennium architecture also is the most used CPOE solution by physicians, with more than 23,000 physicians actively using it in inpatient and ambulatory settings.
