Ceridian Employer Services Senior Executive Selected to First Electronic Tax Administration Advisory Committee.

John Stauffer, senior vice president of product planning for Ceridian Tax Service, a business of Ceridian Employer Services, has been selected to serve on the first Electronic Tax Administration Advisory Committee (ETAAC). The 17-member committee authorized by Congress in connection with Internal Revenue Service reform legislation, will help the IRS plan its strategy for making electronic filing the preferred and most convenient method of filing tax and information returns. The ETAAC also will provide an organized forum for discussion of electronic tax administration issues.

Stauffer was instrumental in implementing the U.S. Electronic Federal Tax Payment System (EFTPS) and in Minnesota's conversion to an all-electronic filing system. He is one of the four principals of the start-up business that is now Ceridian Tax Service, managing that company's transition from a paper environment to an electronic environment.

The ETAAC members are volunteers chosen from nearly 100 applicants whose backgrounds range from tax services, software companies, non-profit associations and financial and educational institutions. Ceridian is the only bulk payroll tax processor with representation on the committee.

By participating on the ETAAC, Ceridian continues its first-hand involvement with IRS considerations and developments in the area of electronic filing.
