Ceridian Announces National Availability of Web-based Payroll Service for Small Businesses.

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 22, 1999--Ceridian Employer Services announces the national availability of Ceridian Powerpay(TM), a Web-based solution that enables small businesses to complete payroll transactions via the Internet from anywhere, at any time. The announcement follows the completion of a successful launch in the New York/New Jersey area.

Offered by Ceridian Small Business Solutions, a business unit of Ceridian Employer Services, Powerpay is designed specifically for companies that currently telephone or fax payroll information to payroll processors. Powerpay enables those companies to transmit data to Ceridian via the Internet, making payroll processing easier and more convenient for small business owners.

"Response to Powerpay has been extremely positive," said Robert Digby Robert Digby may refer to:

"The easy accessibility of computers and the Internet make Powerpay very appealing," said Peter Flemming, owner and administrator for the Garden Terrace Nursing Home in Chatham, NJ, and one of the first customers on Powerpay. "With the proper log in and processing codes, I can submit my payroll from anywhere, at any time. I'm not tied down in the office every two weeks doing payroll."

Powerpay also provides small businesses with access to services such as new hire reporting, tax filing, direct deposit, optional benefits programs, unemployment filing, and special reports - services that were previously enjoyed only by larger companies. "No other major information services See Information Systems.  company offers such a comprehensive solution with this kind of convenience," Digby added.
