MARLBOROUGH, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 16, 2000

Cereva Networks Inc. today announced the appointment of Phillip M. Randall, Ph.D., as vice president, People, Reward and Culture.

Randall brings a broad range of experience to the human resources The fancy word for "people." Most recently he served as vice president, Newbridge Learning Services, at Alcatel Networks (formerly Newbridge Networks Newbridge Networks was an Ottawa, Ontario, Canada company founded by Canadian/Welsh entrepreneur Terry Matthews. It was founded in 1986 to create data and voice networking products after Matthews was forced out of his original company Mitel.  Corp.), of Kanata, Ontario Kanata is a large suburban area in the western part of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada,it has a population of 90,000 and is growing rapidly. It is located just to the west of the Greenbelt and is one of the largest of several communities that surround central Ottawa. . While at Alcatel, he led worldwide learning and organizational change for the corporation and directed a staff of more than 140.

Prior to Alcatel, Randall served as a vice president and corporate officer of Northeast Utilities in Berlin, Conn.; as vice president of human resources and managing business partner for Unisys Corp.'s Computer Systems Group in Blue Bell, Pa.; and as vice president of human resources and organizational development for Nortel Networks in MacLean, Va.
