On Oct. 20, there will be a dedication of the Korean War Memorial, including an 8-foot bronze statue of an American GI and a 4-1/2-foot statue of Korean boy. The statues will represent the relationship between the Korean orphans saved during the war by the GIs. The American Family Link, along with the city of Leominster, surrounding communities and veterans organizations, will be sending comfort boxes to U.S. troops in Afghanistan and Iraq. Donations can be made before Thursday at Leominster City Hall, 25 West St., Leominster. At 7 p.m. Thursday, the comfort boxes will be assembled at the Leominster Veterans Center, 100 West St., Leominster. Volunteers are welcome to help prepare the boxes.
