Cerberian Adds High-Tech Industry Veteran to Board.

Cerberian, a leading provider of Internet filtering solutions for businesses, homes and schools, has appointed Ron Heinz, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Helius, Inc., to its board of directors.

Previously, as president and chief executive officer of Phobos Corporation, Heinz oversaw the acquisition by SonicWALL in the fall of 2000. While at SonicWALL, he served as the chief operating officer and senior vice president. Heinz collected more than 11 years of experience working at Novell, Inc. in various senior management positions before joining Phobos. His final four years at Novell were spent on the four-member Operating Committee, which oversaw the day-to-day operations of the company. Heinz also worked for Xerox Corporation for five years. He earned a bachelor's degree in finance from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and a master's degree in finance from American University. He also participated in postgraduate work at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and at Northwestern Kellogg Management School.
