Expanding Ceragon's European Presence to More Than 15 Countries

Ceragon Networks Ltd. (Nasdaq:CRNT), a global provider of high-capacity broadband wireless systems for next generation communications networks, has been selected to provide FirstMark Communications with equipment through its strategic OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and  relationship with a global telecommunications vendor.

Ceragon has started shipping FibeAir systems for deployment in FirstMark's new nationwide broadband network in Spain. These purchase orders mark Ceragon's continuing success with major European service providers, and its first sale of equipment for use in Spain, one of Europe's largest telecommunications markets. Financial details were not released, but Ceragon expects to supply FirstMark with several hundred FibeAir systems for deployment in its nationwide broadband network in Spain.

FirstMark is building an extensive broadband communications network throughout Europe and has operational and business development activities in 12 major countries. Ceragon is supplying high-capacity infrastructure equipment for FirstMark Spain's nationwide SDH (Synchronous Digital Hierarchy) The European counterpart to SONET. See SONET.

Ceragon Networks' FibeAir product family is a broadband wireless system designed to operate across multiple licensed frequencies -- 18, 23, 26, LMDS (Local Multipoint Distribution Service) A digital wireless transmission system that works in the 28 GHz range in the U.S. and 24-40 GHz overseas.
