Ceradyne Inc. Receives $38.6 Million Ceramic Body Armor Orders for U.S. Marines and U.S. Army.


COSTA MESA, Calif. -- Ceradyne, Inc. (Company) (Nasdaq:CRDN CRDN Certified Restoration Drycleaning Network ) received two ceramic body armor delivery orders totaling $38.6 million. The U.S. Marine Corps, Quantico, Virginia, placed a delivery order for ESAPI ESAPI Enhanced Small Arms Protective Inserts (bulletproof vests)
ESAPI Encryption Services Application Programming Interface
ESAPI Enterprise Security Application Programming Interface (Open Web Application Security Project) 
 for $8.4 million, and the U.S. Army, Aberdeen Proving Ground Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG) is a United States Army facility located near Aberdeen, Maryland (in Harford County).

The Army's oldest active proving ground, it was established on October 20, 1917, six months after the United States entered World War I.
, Maryland, placed a delivery order for $30.2 million of ESAPI. Both orders are expected to be shipped in the third and fourth quarters of 2006.
