"Today, more and more manufacturing facilities and warehouses are relying on wireless systems to perform vital daily operations, requiring them to have a durable communications system In telecommunication, a communications system is a collection of individual communications networks, transmission systems, relay stations, tributary stations, and data terminal equipment (DTE) usually capable of interconnection and interoperation to form an integrated whole.  with the power to cover expansive areas," said Tom Trexler, Director of Wireless Product Development for Centurion. "The MegaSphere offers a single, cost effective and high performing antenna solution for a range of industrial Wireless LAN applications, from inventory control to security."

The MegaSphere provides coverage for 802.11b and 802.11g voice over IP and data communications running in the 2400 - 2500 MHz (MegaHertZ) One million cycles per second. It is used to measure the transmission speed of electronic devices, including channels, buses and the computer's internal clock. A one-megahertz clock (1 MHz) means some number of bits (16, 32, 64, etc.  frequency range. It is ideal for wireless applications performed on warehouse or manufacturing floors used for shipping and receiving, inventory control and logistics management. With a cylindrical form factor and high gain, the antenna can be installed in open-air or high ceiling environments. The MegaSphere comes with multiple mounting options, including a beam clamp mount and a ceiling grid clip mount.

Offering a maximum input power of 50 watts, the MegaSphere features vertical polarization with a peak gain of six dBi and an impedance of 50 ohms. It operates and stores at a temperature range of -40 to 70 degrees Celsius, and is housed in a durable, impact resistant PVC PVC: see polyvinyl chloride.
