Centurion Mines brings production team to OK Copper Mine, Utah.

SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 6, 1996--Centurion Mines Corp. (NASDAQ:CTMC) announced Thursday that Rick Havenstrite will direct permitting, construction and copper production at the OK Mine, Utah (USA).

Havenstrite has also accepted the position of vice president of operations for the company. Bill McCombs, a 20-year veteran of SX/EW operations has been assigned as assistant OK Mine manager. These highly experienced engineers will bring the OK Mine into production at the earliest possible time.

Havenstrite has over 16 years mining experience and is an expert in SX/EW heap leaching. During the past four years Havenstrite managed Arimetco Inc.'s copper operations at Yerington, Nev., with McCombs as his process/construction superintendent. Under Havenstrite's guidance, the Yerington operation was a highly profitable electrolytic copper producer, with direct production costs of 65 cents per pound from low grade ore.

During the past 60 days, Centurion has drilled 25 additional development holes at the OK Mine and has significantly increased previously announced reserves. Preliminary metallurgical tests were performed by Kappes, Cassiday and Associates, Reno, Nev.

Results confirm OK Mine ores are suitable for acid leaching with over 50 percent copper recoverable during the first 10 days leach cycle, and low acid consumption. Centurion management estimates total copper recovery will be 70 percent to 80 percent.

"The relatively high-grade ores at the OK Mine, combined with low acid consumption, low power costs and proximity to transportation facilities make this one of the best copper deposits in the U.S. for SX/EW recovery," said Havenstrite.

"The drilling and trenching exploration program continues to be extremely successful in increasing mineable reserves. Permit regulatory review will likely be completed by the end of 1996, and copper production should commence in 1997."

Solvent extraction/electrowinning (SX/EW) copper operations are generally accepted worldwide as being very environmentally friendly, and among the lowest cost producers of copper. The OK Mine is operated by Dotson Exploration Co. a wholly owned subsidiary of Centurion Mines Corp.
