The new antenna offers an increase in performance of up to thirty percent and greater durability over other LMR antennas.

The EXH antenna is an innovative helical and quarterwave combination design that improves reception performance of up to thirty percent over regular helical style antennas. A new injection molding process increases the antennas durability and flexibility, increasing its value in hazardous environments. The antenna's size and other distinguishing features offer more usability, comfort and support for users of belt worn radios.

To ensure proper fit with different radios, the EXH antennas are individually tuned to VHF (Very High Frequency) The range of electromagnetic frequencies from 30 MHz to 300 MHz.  covering frequency bands from 144 MHz (MegaHertZ) One million cycles per second. It is used to measure the transmission speed of electronic devices, including channels, buses and the computer's internal clock. A one-megahertz clock (1 MHz) means some number of bits (16, 32, 64, etc.  - 174 MHz, and are available in connector configurations including SMA (1) See SMA connector.

, BNC (hardware) BNC - A connector for coaxial cable such as that used for some video connections and RG58 "cheapernet" connections. A BNC connector has a bayonet-type shell with two small knobs on the female connector which lock into spiral slots in the male connector when it is twisted  and selected threaded styles.
