Centura Software Corporation Announces SQLBase Chosen by CAM Data Systems for Retail Star '98 Retail Management Application.

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 7, 1998--Centura Software Corporation (Centura) has announced that CAM Data Systems, one of the largest suppliers of microcomputer based inventory management and point of sale solutions for small to medium sized retailers, has selected Centura Software's SQLBase(tm) as the embedded database for its Retail Star '98 system.

Retail Star '98 has also been developed, in large part using Centura's latest software development tools.

CAM Data has installed more than 5000 systems in North America. Retail Star '98 is the Company's next-generation product, and first to be developed entirely in a Windows-based environment. Retail Star, combined with the database strength and flexibility of SQLBase, offers small to mid size retailers a turnkey solution for leveraging the strength of today's leading-edge computing technologies.
