Prof Lupattelli was visiting the Heworth site as part of a visit by the assessment panel from the European Capitals of Sport Association considering Gateshead's bid to become European City of Sport 2010. The centre is being built on land opposite Heworth Grange Comprehensive School Heworth Grange is a comprehensive school in the Gateshead area of Tyne and Wear, England. This facility is situated near Heworth metro station. This school offers many different styles of teaching and personal development/care. There are many activities to get involved with e.g. P. on High Lanes. Once open it will replace the nearby Felling Pool which was built in 1963. |
