The committee has been asked to review the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 in a comprehensive manner in order to ensure that the provisions of the Act address present days requirements of the Transport Sector in an effective manner. The committee comprising of Prof. Dinesh Mohan from IIT IIT - Integrated Information Technology Delhi, O. P. Agarwal, CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board. and MD, Urban Mass Transit Company (UMTC UMTC Upper Midwest Thundercats ), S. R. Marathe, Director The Automotive Research Association Of India (ARAI), Pune, Dilip Chenoy, DG Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), and Transport Commissioners of Government of Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka amongst others. The Joint. Secretary (Transport) in the Ministry of Road Transport, S.K. Dash, will be the Member Secretary of the committee. The committee will also study the contemporary Acts of the China, Japan and other countries before suggesting the measures.
