A CHILDREN'S centre is hosting a fundraising

Fundraising
 event to collect money for youngsters with terminal illness.

Families are invited to Sure Start Catchgate Children's Centre, on Blackett Street, Stanley, on August 15 between 11am and 1pm.

Staff are organising a range of events, including a tombola, bric-a-brac stall stall, small division of a larger space, sometimes partly partitioned. The term is used for a booth for display and selling at an exhibition, for a compartment in a stable or kennel, or, in England, for the forward seats in a theater orchestra. , games, face painting, cake stall and a guess the teddy competition.

All money raised from the event will be donated to The Rainbow Trust Children's Charity, which provides practical and emotional support to families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness.

The charity supports more than 1,000 families each year, including many in the North East.

 Kim Stephenson said: "We wanted to raise money for a local charity that was going to put something back into our community.

"It's an excellent charity and we hope our fun day is going to raise lots of money for them."
