Jordan Pratt, a junior, scored 32 points against Marist, making 11-of-14 field goals, to lead Central to a 79-59 win over the Spartans in a nonleague prep boys basketball game on Tuesday.

WALDPORT - The Braves outscored the Irish 23-9 in the third quarter to break the game open. Josh Thornton led Reedsport with 24 points and Nick Borrevik added 21.

Waldport was led by Danny Blakely with 18 points, followed by Brian Retherford with 13 and junior Kyle Smallwood with 12.

Newport 54, Cascade 52

NEWPORT - The Cubs led by seven points at halftime and held off a second-half comeback by the Lions to come away with the win.

Ko Yada burned the nets for 22 points to lead Newport, and teammate Sean Palmer Sean Palmer is an American actor having done both T.V. and Broadway. He was born in Reno, Nevada. ELKTON - The Elks outscored the Sailors 57-14 in the second and third quarters as five players finished in double figures for Elkton, led by Quinton Magee with 17 points.

TOLEDO - The Vikings commanded a 31-19 halftime lead in the victory over the Boomers. Colt Raymond led three Siuslaw players in double figures with 14 points, followed by Luke Martindale with 12 and Josh Dotson with 10.

Robert Werder sparked Toledo with 11 points.

Illinois Valley 54, Glide 38

GLIDE - The Cougars marched to a 38-20 lead and coasted to the victory over the host Wildcats. Daniel Houston led Illinois Valley with 15 points while Brad Morin led Glide with 11.

ALSEA - The Wolverines put the Lions away by building a 61-26 lead through three quarters. Brandon Hendrix led Alsea with 17 points, and Kris Smith added 15.

Oak Hill 41, Emerald Christian 34

The Falcons drove to a 19-7 halftime lead in the win over Emerald Christian. Clay Gorham led Oak Hill with 16 points and 14 rebounds.

Emerald Christian was paced by Glenn Moore with 12 points.
