Shegerian is currently in China to warn of the health and environmental threats caused by improper recycling of electronic waste and to offer his expertise to help set up state-of-the-art e-waste recycling throughout the country.

"China is bursting with economic activity and they're beginning to significantly address some of their environmental consequences," said Shegerian. "I want to show their corporate and government leaders that a model for environmental protection and economic growth exists in the burgeoning sector of electronic-waste recycling. Rather than too often being the recipient of global e-waste, China could create its own internal markets for properly dealing with this growing international waste stream."
