Central Transport Announces General Rate Increase.

WARREN, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 22, 2002

Central Transport(R) International, Inc. (CTII CTII Comprehensive Technologies International, Inc. ) today announced it would implement a general rate increase effective July 27, 2002. The increase, which will average 5.48%, will apply to all of the company's geographic service areas and lanes. Absolute Minimum Charges will increase by $2.00 each.

 U.S. Domestic, U.S.-Canadian International and Canadian Domestic rates published in its 500, 555, 585 and 595 series tariffs.

In connection with the general increase, some accessorial charges in CTII's 100 series Rules Tariff will also be revised for greater clarity and to reflect the most current market conditions. The impact of the changes will vary depending on which value-added services A value-added service (VAS) is a telecommunications industry term for non-core services or, in short, all services beyond standard voice calls and fax transmissions.  customers request.

The general rate increase and the adjustment in charges for value-added services are designed so that Central Transport(R) will remain very competitive in the markets it serves. The company said its increase is approximately 1/2 to 1 percentage point less than increases announced by other carriers and rate bureaus. The company noted that shippers and carriers alike have suffered the effects of the challenging economy and it is aggressively managing controllable costs to minimize increases it must pass on to customers.
