Central Indiana Corporate Partnership Welcomes New President/CEO; Former ATP Head Mark Miles Succeeds Goodrich at Helm of CEO Alliance.

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP), an alliance of CEOs of major regional employers and leading university presidents, today announced a successor to its retiring President and CEO, David Goodrich. Mark Miles, former CEO of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) and Executive Director of Corporate Relations for Eli Lilly & Company in the late 1980s, will begin a transition in December and will take the reins as CICP President and CEO on January 1, 2006. E[acute accent]Formed in 1999, CICP brings together the region's business and academic leaders to focus on strategic growth initiatives, concentrating on issues like education and workforce development, building a more diverse, knowledge-based economy and encouraging entrepreneurship. Under Goodrich, the group has been an aggressive advocate for public investment in economic development and higher education, provided seed funding and strategic support for economic initiatives across the region, and pursued opportunities in targeted industry clusters like the life sciences, advanced manufacturing and distribution logistics. Notably, CICP founded the BioCrossroads life sciences initiative in 2002 and continues to support this effort. E[acute accent]To CICP, Mark Miles brings 15 years of experience managing a global organization in the ATP as well as strong Indiana roots. During his tenure at Eli Lilly, Miles was responsible for the firm's local, state and national governmental affairs. He was also deeply involved in a number of volunteer civic pursuits, including helping to organize an initiative to reduce the area's infant mortality rate, serving on the Boards of a number of not for profit organizations, and directing the Indianapolis ATP tennis tournament (now known as the RCA Championships). Prior to his employment at Eli Lilly, Miles served as President of the Organizing Committee for the Pan American Games in Indianapolis in 1987. Miles was also responsible for starting the marketing division of Compucom Development Corporation in the early 80's.
