Central Freight Lines Names Phil Nelms Vice President of Special Services; Nelms Brings 35 Years of Transportation Experience to Executive Management Team.

, Executive Vice President of Central Freight Lines, Inc. (Nasdaq:CENF), announced today the appointment of Phillip (Phil) A. Nelms as Vice President of Special Services. Based out of the company's Dallas Central Line Department, Nelms will report to Gary McCartney, Vice President of Operations. He takes responsibility for Central's guaranteed service product, all purchase transportation providers and Central's owner/operators.

"Phil's considerable experience with LTL LTL - Linear Temporal Logic  Line Haul, coupled with his `can do' attitude, is critical to Central's operational strategy," noted Ainsworth. "The executive management team is looking forward to working with Phil to continue building our efficiencies and increasing our profitability."

"Central's strength lies in the management team and their positive relationships with customers and drivers," commented Nelms. "I am pleased to join a company with a solid foundation, driven management and loyal customers."

A transportation veteran, Nelms has filled a range of director and vice president posts in the industry, including Saia Motor Freight Incorporated and other carriers. In each position he implemented procedures and controls to drive revenues, create efficiencies, reduce costs and improve productivity. Nelms joins Central from USF USF University of South Florida
