Central Freight Lines Names Bert Steed as Western Division Region Manager; Bert Steed Delivers 30 Years of LTL and Air Freight Industry Experience with Top Transportation Companies.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Walt Ainsworth, Executive Vice President of LTL carrier Central Freight Lines, Inc. (Nasdaq:CENF), announced today the appointment of Bert Steed to the Western Division Region Manager post. Based out of the company's Sacramento terminal, Steed reports to Eric Rhea, Western Division Vice President. He assumes responsibility for all operations and sales efforts in the company's Bakersfield, Chico, Fresno, Hayward, Medford, Reno, Sacramento, Las Vegas and Stockton terminals.

Steed has held a wide range of management positions in the transportation industry. As Director of Operations at Matheson Fast Freight, Steed grew the company's revenues from $32M to $41M over three years. He served as VP of North American Transportation for AirEx Transportation, CEO of Anderson & Sons Trucking and spent 18 years with Garrett Freight Lines (now ANR). Steed joins Central from Saia, where he served as the Sacramento Regional Operations and Sales Manager. Steed received his bachelor's degree in education and psychology from Westminster College and is a Vietnam veteran who served in the U.S. Air Force.
