Central City News: Take to the dancefloor; EDGBASTON.


DANCE and exercise classes will start at the Mac in Cannon Hill Park Cannon Hill Park (grid reference SP065835) is a park located in south Birmingham, England.

Its main vehicular entrance is in Edgbaston, opposite the Edgbaston Cricket Ground, but the park and the Midlands Arts Centre are across the river in Moseley.

All courses begin in the week beginning September 11 and run until mid-December.

On Monday evenings there will be tap dancing for beginners and improvers, flamenco and aerobics.

Tuesdays see sessions in Afro Latin dance The term Latin dance has two meanings, depending on whether the context is social or ballroom dance. Dances from Latin America
First, dances originating in Latin America. Typically these are Cha cha cha, Rumba, Samba, Salsa, Mambo, Merengue, Bachata, Cumbia, Bolero.
, hatha and pranayama pranayama /pra·na·ya·ma/ (prah?nah-yah´mah) according to ayurveda, breath control, occurring as one of the eight limbs of yoga; used for controlling the energy within the body and the mind and acting as a vitalizing and regenerating  yoga, pilates and t'ai chi. Lyengar yoga, circus skills, adult ballet, contemporary and jazz dance will be on Wednesdays.

Aerobics sessions and hatha yoga will take place on Thursdays. Friday will see astanga yoga, street dance, flamenco and Spanish dancing.

On Saturday daytime there will be Indian Kathak and Bharatanatyam dancing.
